Basic Animal Handling

Catalog description

This course is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of animal handling techniques, proper restraint, and handling systems for multiple species. Students will also be introduced to flight zone and anatomical structures in relation to animal handling and movement. Species covered in this class will include beef cattle, dairy cattle, pigs, horses, goats, sheep and exotics. Other species may be utilized, if available. Components: Laboratory, Class Prereqs/Coreqs: P: Freshman or sophomore standing or consent of instructor Typically Offered: Fall - Spring
