Catalog description

The final course in a series of three courses is designed to be action-oriented. This course will require educators and school personnel to participate in critical self-reflection in order to create safe school climates that support the well-being of all staff and students, promote school-wide cultures of acceptance and increase understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies that align with Social Emotional Learning and equity. Regardless of the programs and practices currently being implemented participants will become better equipped to implement a wide range of SEL instructional and implementation methods and create actionable and applicable plans. Transformative SEL will aid practitioners in social justice-oriented teaching practices and help educators utilize culture, identity, agency and belonging to create access to the five core SEL competencies.
