Catalog description

This is an introductory course that focuses on the relationship between theory and practice in infant mental health. This course will provide a conceptual framework based on recent brain research, attachment theory and the importance of early relationships. The effects of early stress, trauma and additional psychological and environmental risk factors will be discussed. The course will also examine the long-term societal consequences of negative early childhood experiences.
