Catalog description

Semester course; 3 lecture hours (delivered online, face-to-face or hybrid). 3 credits. The course focuses on how disability and disabled individuals are represented in media of various genres, including literature, film, music and art. Students will learn the effects of positive and negative representations of disability in media and explore the intersections of disability and other marginalized identities. The media selected for study in this course highlights works created by and for those with disabilities and represents a diverse population of authors and creators.
