Catalog description

Technical and managerial issues relating to the operation and maintenance of the physical plant and equipment in hospitality industry facilities. Typically offered Fall Spring. Course Learning Outcomes 1. Develop systematic solutions to a wide range of facility management problems and evaluate those potential solutions to ensure they are fiscally sound. 2. Explain how systems within a facility function, and what is involved in keeping them functioning properly. 3. Describe what’s involved in operating a maintenance department and evaluate their efforts. 4. Describe how to make facilities more sustainable reduce its negative environment impact both during construction and operation. 5. Describe the different regulatory requirements that apply to hospitality facilities such as building codes, licensing, and permit requirements and state the importance of compliance with those requirements.
