Course assists the student new to Purdue to become acquainted with the Purdue system and with the HTM department and program. Information presented to assist students with developing strategies for academic and career-related success at Purdue. Typically offered Fall. General Education: First Year Experience Course Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the curriculum of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Department; the Purdue University registration process and apply that knowledge to plan their academic program and develop a schedule each semester at Purdue. 2. Use the principles of time management in planning their time commitments. 3. Demonstrate individual skills and interests related to career choice. 4. Define and apply civic engagement principles in the local community in service to a non-profit hospiitality or tourism related business. 5.
