Topics include historical developments, key pioneers, and influential industry leaders who have shaped the field. Throughout the semester, representatives from leading companies in the foodservice, lodging, and tourism industries will serve as guest speakers, offering students valuable insights into industry perspectives. General Education: First Year Experience Course Learning Outcomes 1. Identify and explain the many career opportunities available in the hospitality/tourism industry. 2. Describe trends that will have an impact on the future of the hospitality/tourism industry. 3. Apply knowledge within the global perspective of the industry for both the present and the future. 4. Analyze challenges faced by the hospitality/tourism industry professionals for the future. 5. Define the major segments of the industry and the interrelationships among these businesses within the industry. 6.
