Catalog description

The purpose of this course is to equip students with the skills needed to serve as effective management consultants within the nonprofit sector, with a particular focus on addressing strategic challenges faced by local organizations. Working in teams, students will develop and refine project scopes, define deliverables, and execute real-world consulting engagements. In addition, students will collaborate across teams, sharing insights and resources to support one another’s projects. Beyond the consulting practicum, the course will provide students with a deep understanding of key nonprofit dynamics, including fundraising, board development, branding, and risk management. Additionally, students will explore the critical differences between the for-profit and nonprofit sectors, preparing them for leadership roles both as consultants and potential board members.
