Catalog description

Researchers and practitioners alike are fascinated by the organizations, people, culture and practices of the tech sector. This course provides a broad survey of these issues through four days on and near campus at Wharton | San Francisco. Our program features a wide set of prominent Wharton alumni who will offer perspectives on entrepreneurship, tech investment, and innovation in the region through panels and workshops, plus a field visit. This course takes an integrative approach, anchored by interactions with practitioners throughout our time in SF. Students engage with ideas both as individuals and through a Team Project aligned to a specific firm. Through this process, students gain an appreciation for the complexity of determining whether an insight, strategy, or lesson would generalize to a different case.
