Catalog description

combination of class lectures, field trips, and web assisted assignments featuring safety issues in hospitality, tourism and events. Topics included are risk management, crisis management, security management and safety management. Responses to natural and man made disasters impacting destinations involved in hospitality, tourism and events will be analyzed. Food safety management will provide the students an opportunity to gain certification in the ServeSafe Curriculum. Students will be required to pass the food safety test as part of the course. Students will have a competitive advantage in hospitality, tourism, and events enterprises with knowledge and critical thinking skills in safety and security management Restrictions/Requirements:Junior standing. Students will pay an exam registration fee of approximately $25 for national food safety certification exam .
