Service Learn Practicum Exp

Catalog description

Explores the relationship between community engagement and academic learning. Students will partner with a faculty-approved community service organization to complete activities that address regional needs. The supervising instructor completes a formal observation and evaluation of the student every other week. Students will complete a series of reflective exercises that focus on critical thinking, personal growth professional development and civic engagement. This course blends eight face to face sessions with the practicum experience of 14 hours of site based Service Learning for 15 weeks.
