Catalog description

This course is designed to help students and practitioners understand how nutrients affect health and athletic performance, the role of diet in performance and in disease prevention, and assessment of anthropometric and dietary factors will be covered. Basic meal planning for athletes, a general introduction to sports supplements, and ways to assess credibility of nutrition information will also be taught. This is a course for non-dietetics majors and does not meet any requirements for the Nutrition and Dietetics major. This course may be used for the Nutrition minor. Prerequisite: DTN 130 or DTN 240 .
