Catalog description

This course familiarizes students with the foundations of managing the guest experience within a hotel rooms division. Students focus on critical management components and operational procedures including: management of guest expectations; selling guest rooms and services; rooms forecasting; basic revenue management; Smith Travel Research (STR) reports, teamwork, and interdepartmental relationships. This course will identify and study the hotel operational departments and how they interact. By the completion of the course, students will gain mastery of computer programs used within the hotel industry, such as CRM systems, and will be introduced to certification requirements required for operating these systems.
