Catalog description

This class focuses on the importance of caregivers/family involvement, interagency communication and collaboration, and community involvement to improve postsecondary outcomes for individuals with disabilities. The course references the challenges and opportunities facing individuals with disabilities as they transition into postsecondary education, employment and independent living settings. We will explore how to build effective partnerships between caregivers/families, educators, direct service providers and community organizations to create a coordinated and collaborative system of support.
