Basic Behavior Analysis

Catalog description

Behavior analysis has four primary branches: behaviorism, basic, applied and professional practice guided by behavior analysis. In this course we will focus on the basic branch of applied behavior analysis. The basic branch of behavior analysis, usually called the experimental analysis of behavior (EAB), provides the building blocks for the field, investigating systematic relations between behavior and its controlling variables, primarily in individual organisms, typically under rigorous laboratory conditions. This course will introduce students to the science of behavior analysis, focusing primarily on EAB, with some coverage of the philosophy of radical behaviorism and some minimal coverage of ABA.
