STEM Methods: Exploring PreK-8 Math and Science Pedagogy

Catalog description

Research-based teaching practices in PreK-8 mathematics and science for culturally diverse populations. Emphasis on examining children's thinking and reasoning, influence of science, mathematics, and technology on social issues; and understanding teaching and learning processes. Readings and experiential learning promote critical analysis of ethical instructional practices, role of STEM education in society, and impact of the environment on student learning. Recommended prerequisite: EDUC 101, EDUC 240, or instructor consent.
