Catalog description

Using concept art techniques and symbolic design, this class explores the world through the lens of the self. Uncover a world within your own mind and learn to listen to the small details that affect your design decisions. Students will learn how to consciously pull from their personal life experiences, passions, and emotional landscape to create designs that are truly unique to them. Processes covered in this class include mindful ideation practices through sketching and iteration. No prior drawing knowledge or concept art skills needed. This course is taught by Ashley Kenawell. Ashley is a digital artist and educator with a background in board game and illustration and concept art. Her speciality is creating worlds and stories that reflect parts of the inner-self and teaching others to communicate their own self exploration through character and environment design.
