Catalog description

The binary opposition between the sexes is a thing of the past. Or is it? This seminar will attempt to show that far from being the bastion of simple opposition and hetero-normativity, the psychoanalytic theory of sexuality still offers the most powerful critique of same to date. It is the sex of sexual difference that gets lost in contemporary mis-readings of psychoanalysis. And affect theory, far from making up for this loss, has become a further clean-up operation, intent on white-washing the messiness of sex.
