Catalog description
Provides an introduction to the principles and practices of network, computer, and information security. Topics include authentication and cryptographic techniques, intrusion detection, access control, security policies, and program/policy analysis techniques. Students complete a project applying AI machine learning methods to a core security domain such as threat detection, automated vulnerability analysis, or AI-assisted policy evaluation. Prerequisites: CS 350 and CS 375. Both prerequisites must have a grade of C- or better. Typically offered once every academic year.
