Catalog description
This course covers intermediate arc welding skills with emphasis on vertical and overhead welding with the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process. Course activities prepare the student for weld certification, pipe welding and advanced arc welding classes. Weld symbols, joint preparation, weld codes, AWS standards and weld alloys are covered. Prerequisite: Completion of WELD 10 with a C or better.
