Catalog description

This course emphasizes the care of the children with a family-centered approach. Emphasis is placed on normal growth and development, family dynamics, common pediatric disorders, and the promotion of safety, developmental aspects, and unique needs of the pediatric client. Clinical experiences provide the student the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe client care to children in selected settings. Prerequisite: NURS-11A, NURS-11B, NURS-12A, and NURS-12B Advisory: Students need basic keyboarding and computer literacy. Entrance Requirement: Acceptance into the Yuba College Registered Nursing Program.
