Catalog description
This course is designed for the California Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) the emphasis is placed on health assessment across the lifespan, family communication, patient education, teamwork and collaboration, role transition, clinical judgment, and management of care. The course introduces?nursing?concepts?and roles of the registered nurse in various health care settings. Content builds upon the fundamentals, medical-surgical, obstetrical and pediatric nursing content the student received in their vocational nursing program. Classroom and simulation experiences will provide students with the opportunity to utilize critical thinking skills, while providing nursing care for patients from a variety of diverse backgrounds. Advisory: Students need basic keyboarding and computer literacy. Entrance Requirement: Currently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
