Childbearing Fam

Catalog description

This course provides an integrative, family-centered approach to the care of childbearing individuals and newborns. Emphasis is placed on normal and high-risk pregnancies, normal growth and development, family dynamics, and the promotion of healthy behaviors in clients. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe client care to childbearing individuals and newborns in selected settings. Prerequisite: NURS-11A and NURS-11B Advisory: Students need basic keyboarding and computer literacy. Entrance Requirements: Acceptance into the Yuba College Registered Nursing Program.
