Catalog description
This course introduces nursing concepts and roles of the registered nurse in various health care settings. Emphasis is placed on the knowledge and skills needed to provide safe, quality care. The theoretical foundation for basic assessment and nursing skills is presented, and the beginning student is given an opportunity to demonstrate these skills in selected settings. An introduction to the nursing process provides a decision-making framework to assist students in developing effective clinical judgment skills. Advisory: Students need basic keyboarding and computer literacy. Entrance Requirements: Acceptance into the Yuba College Registered Nursing Program.
