Catalog description

Explore music history and literature from antiquity to 1750. Discover how culture, intellectual ideas, and society have influenced music throughout the history. Students will deeply examine the development of Western European music by analyzing historical details and how they relate to stylistic elements of musical trends in each era. The course will also explore the contributions of historically marginalized composers and performers as well as those who are well-known.
