Symphonic Band

Catalog description

This course is for the study, rehearsal, and public performance of literature appropriate to the wind ensemble, with an emphasis on the development of skills needed to perform within a large ensemble. Different literature will be studied each semester. Choice of ensemble is based on each student's identified major instrument or voice. The course is repeatable for credit the maximum times allowable by regulation. Grades are Pass/No Pass option. (Repeatable: May be repeated three times only.) Entrance Requirement: Audition Required (Students may enroll in the course before the audition, but may be dropped based on the audition result). Other: Students should bring their own instruments (except percussion). The College may be able to loan an instrument in limited cases, but if one is not available, students may need to rent one from a local music store.
