Applied Voice

Catalog description

Individualized instruction in vocal techniques, performance skills, and vocal repertoire. The emphasis is on the progressive development of skills needed for solo performance. Public performance is required. Achievement is evaluated through a juried performance. Audition is required. (Repeatable: May be taken four times only.) Other Conditions of Enrollment: Audition Required (Students may enroll in the course, but may be dropped based on the audition result) ; The student must already possess basic music reading skills, fundamental singing skills such as matching pitches and breath technique, and some prior experience in solo or ensemble singing. Students without these skills should take elementary voice classes first to gain the proficiency level before taking this course.
