Catalog description
This course meets the same requirements as ENGL C1000 (ENGL1A) while providing language support to non-native English speakers. The course focuses on the development of reading skills, expository and argumentative writing, research strategies, and information literacy through materials structured to support the needs of language learners regarding academic language development and vocabulary use, editing, and cultural context. Students will write a minimum of 5000 words. Requisite: Eligibility for college-level composition as determined by college assessment or other appropriate method. Limitations on Enrollment: Course not open for credit to students with credit in ENGL C1000 (formerly ENGL 1A) or ENGL C1000E (formerly ENGL 1E).
