Catalog description
This course includes demonstration of developmentally appropriate early childhood program planning and teaching competencies under the supervision of ECE/CD faculty and other qualified early education professionals in an infant/toddler setting. Students will utilize practical classroom experiences to make connections between theory and practice, develop professional behaviors, and build a comprehensive understanding of children and families. Reflective practice will be emphasized as student teachers design, implement, and evaluate approaches, strategies, and techniques that promote development and learning. Includes exploration of career pathways, professional development, and teacher responsibilities, and teacher responsibilities working with infants/toddlers. Prerequisite: ECE-1A, ECE-1B, ECE-3, and ECE-31 Corequisite: ECE-42 or ECE-43 Entrance Requirements: Stuents must have a current TB Test Clearance within one year, proof of Vaccinations for MMR and tdap. Students must also have a current (within one year) influenza vaccination or signed waiver.
