Catalog description

This course is an exploration of clay as a medium of expression through hand building and wheel throwing techniques. Students will learn intermediate techniques in building and surface enrichment, clay body formulations, glaze formulation, and kiln firing. Students are introduced to leading trends in contemporary ceramics worldwide and evaluate their own personal aesthetics. Grades are Pass/No Pass option. Prerequisite: ART-12A.
