An exploration of developmental and instructional implications related to reading in the elementary and middle grades, including vocabulary acquisition, comprehension, and writing instruction. Principles of explicit and systematic instruction and using evidence-based strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of all students are studied and practiced. 20 field hours are required. Prereq.: TERG 2605 with a minimum grade of "C" and TERG 3700 with a minimum grade of "C".
