Catalog description
This course is intended to introduce students to nursing care of patients, families, groups, populations, and communities. Principles and practices of community health are discussed. Emphasis is placed on factors that influence the health of populations, health promotion, and disease prevention interventions. Clinical experiences are provided in a variety of community settings. 3 hours lecture and 6 hours clinical per week. Prereq.: C or better in NURS 3796 and 3796L , NURS 3795 and 3795L , NURS 3794 . Coreq.: NURS 4898L .
