Catalog description
This course facilitates the transition of the student to the role of a professional nurse. Emphasis is placed on demonstration of professional behaviors, leadership, management, and delegation. Topics include planning for employment as a professional nurse and preparing for the NCLEX licensing exam, including a comprehensive pharmacological review. Students will provide care to a caseload of patients with a preceptor while functioning as a contributing member of the interprofessional team to apply knowledge and practice skills acquired in previous courses within a variety of settings. 6 hours lecture per week with 120 hours precepting. Prereq.: C or better in NURS 4899 and 4899L , NURS 4898C and 4898L . Coreq.: NURS 4897L .
