Catalog description

Basic concepts and issues of modern Italian linguistic theory in the areas of phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. Emphasis is placed on sociolinguistics, dialectology and Italian dialect endangerment. Regular in-class discussion and occasional in-class writing assignments, all in Italian. Prereq.: Either ITAL 2607 and ITAL 2608 ; or ITAL 3702 .
