Catalog description

This course examines how artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming society, the economy, and the job market, looking at emerging and evolving developments. Students will learn to use AI tools and think critically about how they affect society. The course helps students understand AI's impact on society, and it will also teach students how to predict future trends and suggest solutions to the problems AI may cause. The course covers topics such as the challenges of AI and its long-term consequences on skill development, LLMs, automation, and the impact of AI across industries, ethical considerations in AI, policy responses like Universal Basic Income, and predicting AI's impact on jobs. Gen Ed : Social and Behavioral Science.
