Methods and practices of professional counseling relative to relationship, goals, process, and documentation. Relevant ethical guidelines are stressed. Includes experiential skill training. This course provides an in-depth exploration of the unique psychological and cultural dynamics of athletic environments. Students will examine the mental health challenges faced by athletes, develop skills to support athlete well-being, and learn strategies to foster resilience and performance. Topics include understanding athletic culture, stress management, injury recovery, career transitions, and mental health advocacy within sports. You must be declared as a 'Minor in Counseling' OR a graduate student who is accepted into the 'Counseling Graduate Program' to take this course. Prereq.: C or better in COUN 3750 .
