Catalog description

This course will cover all major topics in the book of Jeremiah, from the personality of Jeremiah, to comparing him to other prophets, to focusing on the times of the year we read selections from Jeremiah as the Haftara. The course will analyze the text both on a Pshat level as well as through the lens of major early, medieval, and contemporary commentators.
