Catalog description

This course focuses on the development of a research plan related to the doctoral dissertation. Students will conceptualize an empirically testable research question relevant to social work. Using that research question, they will develop the methodology to answer that question, including research design, data collection methods, and analysis. They will also provide an accurate review of the limitations of their research plan and assess the implications of their proposed topic for social work, social work education, social policy, and future research. At the end of the semester, students will have a draft of the dissertation proposal. Prerequisite(s): SWK 8904 . Restriction(s): For PhD students only.
