Catalog description

This course is devoted to qualitative research methodology, analysis, and interpretation. It builds on material presented in Strategies of Inquiry I, with the aim of providing information and skills for PhD students in assessing and conducting qualitative research. Students are guided by the course work and instructor advisement to determine whether qualitative research methods are appropriate for their dissertation study. Developing a well-rounded approach to research methodology is the specific aim of the course, regardless of students' proclivity toward qualitative research. The use of qualitative software is introduced for students to analyze data transcription data. The team approach to research is emphasized as a working model for current- day research methods. Prerequisite(s): SWK 8421 and 8422.
