Catalog description
This course emphasizes the multiple causation of the misuse of addictive substances, the biological, social, and psychological consequences of substance use, and the impact of addictions on the family, community, and larger society. Particular attention is paid to the policy and programmatic responses to this social problem, the role of the courts, and differing philosophies and practices regarding treatment. Prerequisite(s): SWK 6691 .
