Catalog description
This course helps students develop the knowledge and skills necessary for working with individuals with diagnoses of serious mental illnesses using recovery-oriented evidence-based practices. Students will become familiar with specific evidence-based interventions to use with individuals with a diagnosis of serious mental illness. Students will learn to examine research literature to determine the level of research support for specific interventions and essential principles for translating research into practice. Students will identify the appropriate assessment techniques and treatment outcomes that reflect effective mental health practice with diverse groups of individuals.
