This elective course will explore hypnosis; its history and relationship with hysteria; hypnosis research and benefits of single subject design; distinctions between everyday trance, mindfulness meditation and hypnotic trance; using hypnosis as an adjunct to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Soultion-focused Brief Treatment, and Motivational Interviewing; the 12 classic hypnotic phenomena; hypnosis in palliative care and analgesia.
