Catalog description

How do people learn to distinguish right from wrong, or good from evil? Is morality universal or based on one's culture or upbringing? What is the relationship between morality and religion? This class focuses on the questions of how people develop an understanding of morality and how this understanding impacts their moral values and behavior. The class aims to help students develop an appreciation and understanding of various theories of moral development from a psychological perspective, as well as develop the skills to apply this knowledge to understand and evaluate a variety of contemporary issues.
