Catalog description

This course is a survey of holistic approaches within counseling psychology. Students will explore theories and practices rooted in depth psychology, transpersonal psychology, ecopsychology, somatic psychology, expressive arts and holistic psychology. Emphasis will be placed upon experiential engagement, including meditation, mindfulness, breathwork and animal-assisted therapy to deepen understanding of how these modalities can be integrated into clinical practice. Ethical, cultural and research applications will also be addressed to ensure responsible application across diverse client populations.
