Emergency Medicine Clerkship

Catalog description

he five-week clerkship in emergency medicine provides an opportunity to apply the principles learned in the didactic year curriculum. Through emergency department based supervised patient contact the student will gain practical clinical experience in performing the directed history and physical, triage, as well as assessment and management of acute medical and surgical emergencies. The student will learn the value of an interdisciplinary approach to patient centered care and gain an appreciation for the role a PA may play in an emergency medicine setting.
