Solution of parabolic, hyperbolic, and elliptic equations; initial and boundary value problems arising in physical situations such as heat conduction, wave propagation and gravitational potential; method of characteristics, separation of variables, Laplace and Fourier transforms. Prerequisite(s): MATH 1510 and MATH 2601 .
