Catalog description

This is an introductory course to Mathematical Statistics including discussion of sample and population, sampling distributions, point estimators (method of moments, maximum likelihood) and their properties, confidence intervals, test of hypotheses, simple and multiple linear regression, and analysis of categorical data. The course assumes a good understanding of calculus, linear algebra, and probability theory. (See STA 2462.) Prerequisite(s): MAT 2461 .
