Games and Strategic Advantage

Catalog description

This course introduces the foundational principles of game theory and applies them to strategic decision-making in business and politics. Students will learn how to model and analyze situations of strategic interaction, where the outcome depends not only on their own decisions but also on the decisions of others. Key topics include static and dynamic games, games of complete and incomplete information, Nash equilibrium, mixed strategies, sequential games, signaling, bargaining, and mechanism design. Emphasis is placed on applying game-theoretic concepts to real-world problems in competitive strategy, negotiations, pricing, auctions, marketing, operations, and organizational behavior. Prerequisite(s): IDS 5420 and MAN 5604 .
