Catalog description
This course provides an experiential study of business innovation through on-site engagements with growing firms in New York City. The course combines classroom instruction with company visits. The focus is on team projects that unpack the management of all the firm's functions, starting with its strategy and ending with its corporate culture. Students will gain hands-on experience and firsthand knowledge of how firms embrace technological change, transform innovations into marketable products, and scale operations locally and globally. Emphasis is placed on how firms make their strategic choices, data generation and communication, and strategy execution in dynamic, competitive environments such as the business ecosystem of New York City. Prerequisite(s): IDS 5420 and MAN 5604 .
