Catalog description

Presents a global perspective to students by examining cross-cultural theories, integrating international concepts, and understanding the challenges faced by multinational organizations. Multinational firms seek to recruit individuals who understand what cultural adaptations are required to successfully compete in the global marketplace. Through a combination of lectures, academic literature review, cases analyses, and projects, students develop an understanding of the changes required in lifestyle; what type of government runs the country in which they will be working; and if that kind of government will mean restrictions in behavior. Students also examine the various negotiating styles needed to be able to manage effectively across cultures, either on international assignments or in cross-cultural teams. Prerequisite(s): MAN 1020 /MAN 1020H; MAR1001/MAR 1001H; MAN 3601 or MAR 3341 . (Same as MAR 3605H)
